Experience in Coffee: |
Mum was roasting coffee when she was pregnant with my sister and I so you can say my experience in coffee commenced in utero! I started selling coffee at The Re Store after Italian School when I was eight and quickly learnt how to say Maragogype (although we used to joke and call it Elephant coffee because the beans were so big!). When we were little, an old coffee roaster once told my sister and cousins and I that coffee was magic and we used to watch him roasting and we used to eagerly wait for the coffee to change colour and crackle and pop! I now have my four year old cousin Luca who is our fourth generation in coffee and there is a great sense of de ja vu as I watch him do the same thing. My Grandfather, mother, uncle, and father made sure that we grew up experiencing and tasting coffee. I started working for Braziliano Coffee in 1991. I thoroughly enjoy tasting and trying new coffees and developing new blends. I visited some of the origins in South America in 2003 by myself which prematurely aged my parents J |
